Therapeutic Target for Lung Cancer Uncovered

Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. Despite improved screenings and medical advances in treatment, lung cancer is usually diagnosed at later stages once the tumor has spread. A new study in mice by Northwestern Medicine researchers demonstrates and describes a new gene that is responsible for activating an aggressive subtype of small-cell lung cancer. Their findings may lead to improved approaches and treatments.
