NIAID Awards $36 Million to Pan-Coronavirus Vaccine Development

The rapid development of the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines currently being used will go down as one of the most impressive accomplishments in scientific history. However, the fight against coronaviruses is far from over. Not only because of the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants, but also the possibility of other coronaviruses causing a pandemic threat.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is not letting up on its fight against COVID-19 and future coronavirus-related outbreaks.
